“And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching
them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminates their lives.”
Jude 1:22-23.
In February (19th-24th) a group (Brent Vinson, Chenoa Vick, Dan Solomon, and Lorelei and Ashley Weston) from Thorington Road Baptist Church in Montgomery went to Cuba, and what an awesome time of encouraging the believers, praying with the sick and hurting, and sharing the good news of our awesome
Savior!
The little village we’re working in is full of small concrete block homes, lean-to’s, and wood shacks. Most people are poor and sad, with sicknesses and problems making life very hard. It’s heartbreaking. But, then there is the church…living in the same conditions with many of the same problems, but with hope and joy! The community of believers is strong and watching them work and serve together is such a blessing.
Jeff headed over to Cuba ahead of the next team to be able to go and access some hurricane damaged areas of the island and see how we could help the young couple who are the pastors there. He was also able to attend the second anniversary celebration of Yunior and Albert’s church.

Our next group (Jeff Benefield, Henry Martin, Michael Godwin, and Ken & Monica Jarmusz) to Havana was from Heritage Baptist Church in Prattville, Alabama (March 13-17). This was the first time many of them had been on mission and it was awesome to see how everyone was eager to pray and share their stories. We went by some of the homes that we visited with the previous group to check on people and encourage them in their walk with the Lord. We ran into a hiccup on Friday night when Cuba suffered a nationwide black out. The power was out until Sunday afternoon late, which meant that there was also no water in most cases due to the pumps not working that get the water from the cistern to the water tank on the roof. Despite this we saw the Lord do some amazing things and we were all super thankful for a shower and a cool room to sleep in on the last night.

Our next mission is April 7-10 with Pike Road Baptist Church. Please pray for us as we take in supplies, encourage the believers, and reach the lost in the name of Jesus.
In May Jeff and Craig Clement leave for Uganda to see the finished medical clinic on Tisai Island. Pray for them as they go and minister in the name of Jesus.
Whew…it’s been a busy spring. We’re hoping to take a few months in the summer to gear up for the fall missions that are planned. We would love for you and your church to participate in what the Lord is doing at TREC! We welcome your gifts and talents as we TREC to Uganda, Cuba, Nepal, India, and beyond. Be a part of making a difference in people’s lives and sharing your faith. There is no greater calling than to be in service to the King. We love you and count it a blessing to work with you.
Many blessings!
Jeff and Trudy
