December 2022: Ministry Update

GET YOUR FAITH DIRTY

Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let Earth receive her King!

Our time with our Cuban friends in November was amazing. The Lord continues to provide opportunities for stories to be told, lives to be changed, and for dreams of new livelihood projects and home churches. He is expanding our boundaries for ministry in ways we could not have imagined and is bringing people to the table to help us do the things we cannot. All of this in the middle of chaos and uncertainty. The crazier the world gets the more we see Jesus showing up with new opportunities. He is in the business of rescuing people, and He is doing an incredible work in the world right now.

Jeff has often explained how Jesus uses our stories (of grace and redemption) and puts us in situations to share that story with someone who needs to hear that exact message. It happens over and over again when we’re on the streets of Havana. A friend of ours, Dan Solomon, lost his wife, Lena, to cancer a few years ago. Dan spends many hours at the Cancer Center here in Montgomery ministering to patients there. Every person Dan had the opportunity to share his story with in Havana (and I mean EVERY person) was with someone who has cancer or a family member who has cancer. Dan was able to connect with so many people to encourage and pray with them in a very specific way. Dan ministered from his life to hurting people who needed to hear about God’s redeeming grace. I’d like to encourage you to share your story as the Lord gives you the opportunity. Be intentional…the Lord has given you a story uniquely designed, and it needs to be heard. Someone is waiting on you to share it!

Another interesting thing happened as a group was out sharing their stories. They came upon some ladies who said they were Christians, but after talking with them came to find out that they were continuing to practice witchcraft out of fear while also trying to walk with Jesus. As the conversation deepened one of the ladies showed the team her idols. She wanted to get rid of them, but was afraid. The team got to work and helped her to destroy all the idols. Braedon Collins is pictured above hauling out a sack full of idols.

Our next mission is December 28-30. Our goal is bread making. We will be taking in ovens, wheat berries, mills, and all the supplies needed for bread. We will of course be taking in beans, rice, powdered milk, oatmeal, and other essential non-perishable food items. Please pray all these things will make it safely to Cuba and get through immigration.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement as we Teach, Reach, Equip, and Comfort the people the Lord puts in front of us. We know we can count on you to help buy supplies, pray, and give. It’s hard to tell you just how desperate things are in Cuba. Ricardo said something this last visit that has stuck with us. He said, “We have known poverty, but this is misery.” We all know that Jesus is the only answer to these worldly problems.

Thank you for helping us share love and hope to people who are lost and comfort where we can. Your year end gifts are so important and will help us in 2023 do all the Lord is calling us to. After all these years, we’re still full steam ahead. There are still so many who need to hear the Gospel. Time is short and people need Jesus.

Joy to the world the Lord has come!

Jeff & Trudy
