August 2023 Ministry Update

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

I’ll be leaving this Saturday with Catheryn Collins and Glenda Escobar for Miami, where our sweet friend Yaili is staying with her sister. Yaili (the wife of Yunior and the mother of four children) was the only one in her family whose immigration papers were accepted to come to the U.S. She is very homesick and it has been a real struggle to be here without them. The Lord laid it on my and Catheryn’s heart to go visit her and encourage her. While she’s been in the States, she and her sister have worked to get her medical insurance. If you remember, Yaili has a pituitary tumor that has caused a lot of problems in her body. She is now in a place where she can receive the medical help she needs. She has had initial doctor’s visits and is now in the care of an Endocrinologist. Yaili has a deductible of $3400 and a sweet family has already given $1000 of that. We know God will meet the need. I’ll be taking that money with me for her treatment.

While we’re there we will also work on connecting her with a local church in the area that our friend, David Romero (Hispanic pastor at Vaughn Forest Church) has a connection with. We are excited to see what the Lord will do on this mission.

Since we’ll be so close to Cuba, Jeff thought he would meet us so we could make a supply run to deliver much-needed food, hygiene items, and medicine to our friends. We are so excited to see them again. Pray for us as we go. We have several churches making the trek to Havana in the coming months as well.

We also have the Annual TREC International-Stan Sherlin Memorial Golf Tournament coming up on October 16th. You will find the registration forms on the website…just follow the link. We know it will be a great day, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone.

Update from Uganda

Construction on the medical clinic is coming right along. Check out this video to see the building’s progress. This project is the fruit of last year’s golf tournament honoring Stan. This year’s proceeds will go to build a church in Nepal. We’re excited to work with Jiwan on this project!

We can’t thank you enough for all you do to advance the Kingdom. These have been some pretty trying times for all of us, but we are grateful that you continue to press in to what the Lord is doing through TREC. Your encouragement and support are what God uses during the tough times.

We love and appreciate you.
