May 2025 – Ministry Update

When we face difficulties, we sometimes forget God’s past faithfulness. We see only the detours and the dangerous path. But look back and you will also see the joy of victory, the challenge of the climb, and the presence of your Traveling Companion who has promised never to leave, abandon, or give up on you.

Getting to Uganda is always a challenge, but it’s worth the struggle once you arrive. I was traveling with my good friend Craig Clement from Prattville, Alabama. Craig has been with me on many missions with TREC, including to Cuba and India.

We had the opportunity to visit two new church plants on Tisai Island. Tisai is a large island which use to be only accessible by boat, but fortunately, the Ugandan government constructed a road that makes getting to and around the island much easier. This is where we’ve been building the medical
clinic.

Construction on the clinic is now complete, and the building has already been used to administer vaccinations to the island’s residents. Unfortunately, the organization that had committed to providing all the furnishings and medical supplies has backed out. I’m currently waiting on an
estimate to see what it will take to complete the next phase of the project, so the people on the island can receive the medical care they desperately need. I’ll update you once that information
comes in.

We also spent two days training 40 pastors. Actually, we felt led not to conduct traditional pastor training, but instead to invite pastors and leaders to take off their “pastor hats” and simply come as men and women of God, seeking to be better followers of Jesus. We walked through Psalm 23 one word at a time. God’s Word encouraged, convicted, and corrected us. We shared sweet times of
prayer together. It was truly a privilege to minister alongside Craig. What joy we felt as we
worshiped our King together in simple mud structures with thatched roofs.

Before we left, Trudy asked if I thought we would continue working in Uganda. I told her I wasn’t sure. For over two years, I’ve been praying that God would use TREC to help reach an unreached people group. While in Uganda, I believe the Lord may have answered that prayer. We are now praying about how to join forces with our partners in Uganda to reach a group called the Karamonja. Please join us in prayer as we seek His guidance to accomplish this task—one that only He can do through His people. We will definitely be getting our faith dirty with this project.

Go, fight, win!
