December 2020: Ministry Update

"It's Christmas every time you let God love others through you...yes, it's Christmas every time you smile at your brother and offer him your hand."

- Mother Teresa

In last month’s newsletter, I mentioned two of our missions partners in Cuba that were thanking God for the lack of food there because they now have more time to fast and pray. Yunior and Albert are living in very difficult days in Cuba, but in the midst of difficulty they continue to advance the Gospel and look for ways to minister to those in need.

Recently they learned that there are villages in th eeastern part of Cuba where the people are actually starving. They have no rice, no beans, no onions, no garlic. They have nothing. The names of these villages are Bayamos and Holguin. The villages are a 14 hour Jeep ride from their home in Havana. In their great time of need the Lord brought people across their paths who are in greater need.

Albert and Yunior answered the call to help. they are currently driving across Cuba to help feed these people and share the good news of Jesus. TREC was able to send funds to Cuba to help feed these people and share the good news of Jesus. We are asking you to please pray for Yunior and Albert as they embark on this mission. Pray God will protect them and the supplies as they travel. Pray the Holy Spirit will go ahead of them to prepare the hearts of the lost to believe and follow the Truth. Pray that they will see God move in ways that leave them speechless!

He Rules the World with Truth and Grace

At the beginning of this year we started our Boots and Bibles campaign to reach porters in Nepal. Because of COVID-19, the boots were held up in China for 8 months. GREAT NEWS: The boots were delivered last week, and our TREC partners in Nepal are passing them out, sharing the gospel, and praying over each man. You will find a list of some of the names of the men that have received the boots and bibles in the photo below. Will you join us in praying for them that they will become radical followers of Jesus. Pray for them all or pray for one or two daily, but please pray that God will move in their lives. Pray for Bishal and Yamuna as they spearhead this project.

Construction of homes in a village that were devastated by a mudslide continues. Pray God moves in this village in mighty ways. Also, construction of the first phases of our cottage project are underway as well.

I want to thank Olivia Robinson for making and selling Christmas ornaments to support the mission work of TREC. She spent most of her summer (while quarantining) to paint over 200 ornaments. I know many of you were blessed by her talent and willingness to do something BIG to impact the Kingdom. Good job, Olivia! To God be the. glory!

As I was walking my dog earlier this week, I started thanking God for all that He has done this year, I am thankful for how He has sustained us and how He has surrounded us with Godly me nand women in Nepal and Cuba who will not use COVID-19 as an excuse to sit still. they press on, and God is using them in mighty ways. I know 2020 has been challenging and life changing for many of us, but we must move forward in the face of adversity to reach those who do not know Jesus as Savior and Lord. I look forward to what God is going to do in 2021, but He is still not through with us this year. Let’s finish strong! Please keep praying, and keep giving so that we can finish this year with momentum heading into 2021. We look forward to the day when you can TREC with us to Cuba and Nepal once again.

On behalf of TREC and all our international missions partners, we want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas adn a Happy New Year!

-Jeff & Trudy McFarland

We stand amazed at all that the Lord has done in 2020 despite a worldwide pandemic. We refuse to sit back and relax while the “rulers of darkness of this world” wreak havoc with disease andchaos. In our minds, it only serves to prove the urgency of proclaiming the Gospel of Peace. Time is growing short Please know that we appreciate you considering TREC in your year-end giving. Together we TREC to reach the unreached. God bless! GO, FIGHT, WIN!
